The Get Up Kids – Official European Tour Announcement and FREE mp3
The reason a lot of what’s happening now in the emo/punk scenes around the world is down to THE GET UP KIDS. In fact, the reason why kids formed bands was because of them. The past ten years has seen this genre of music grow, spawning bands that are now topping charts and influencing the newer generations. TGUK have been long missed since their break up, however, since August 2008 they’ve re-emerged and have got a lot of people excited!
Announcing a full European tour in August and the 10th Anniversary Edition of their critically acclaimed album ‘Something To Write Home About’ on VAGRANT in September, they’re looking to find their second wind and remind old, and new fans, alike, what made this little band from Kansas city so influential in recent years.
With members of TGUK having joined bands such as My Chemical Romance, New Found Glory, Leathermouth, Reggie & The Full Effect (James Dewees); The New Amsterdams & Terrible Two’s (Matt Pryor); Spoon (Ryan Pope); Koufax (Rob & Ryan Pope) and Blackpool Lights (Jim Suptic) the band are more relevant to a broader audience than ever before! These four shows will no doubt be full of passion, memories of old and creating memories new.
The 10th Anniversary edition of ‘Something To Write Home About’ comes with Bonus DVD including a full live set from a recent re-union show, recorded in the bands hometown of Kansas last year, and a documentary on the recording of this classic album featuring tonnes of never seen before footage. The record will be released via VAGRANT Records on September 7th.
Tickets will be bundled with a copy of the bands live album ‘Live! @ The Granada Theater’ and there will be no booking fee over at http://www.vagrantuk.bigcartel.com/
