The days before the show I was a little nervous to watch Metro Station, I liked the CD so much and was really hoping that they would be as good live …. I walked into one of my favourite venues in London full of anticipation for an awesome show …. Went up the stairs and could hear the opening act playing. They sounded really good and the crowd was into it, actually I suppose the crowd was just hyped for the show.

After the quest act Lights and Sounds ended the stage was being cleared for the band everyone was waiting for – Metro Station. A group of guys in the crowd kept everyone going with “We say Metro, you say Station”and Mexican waves. A few scream came from the group of people in the standing area every time a sound walked across the stage looking like he might be a member of the band.

The crowd went wild when the band walked onto the stage and I felt a surge of pure excitement as they started with my favourite song of the moment I Wish We Were Older. Trace Cyrus is an amazing showman with guitar twirling, mic antics and tossing his various guitars at his guitar tech. At 20 years old he exhibits all the tricks that rock ‘n roll veterans used to make rock ‘n roll look so cool. Trace had three mic stands lined up with about 20 guitar picks on each and every time he played his guitar, he threw a pick into the crowd and when one mic stand was empty there was another in it’s place to keep the crowd waiting for just one more item touched by the amazing front man Trace. He truly has so much energy and the entire band make you feel like you are at the start of something big. The crowd enjoyed every moment of the show as Metro Station ran through songs off their CD such as Kelsey and Now That We’re Done. Every song encouraged the crowd to get a little more excited and to keep on dancing. And the front men encouraged the groups of fans in front of the stage with “Come on sing it”.

The show ended and soon after everyone started screaming for more. Metro Station returned to the stage with their biggest hit Shake It and finished off the show with Control. The perfect end to the most amazing show. In retrospect I now know I had nothing to worry about as Metro Station exceeded my expectations and I must admit it was mainly thanks to the rock ‘n roll rockstar that is Trace Cyrus. I had a lot of discussions with people prior to this show and I can gladly say that whether or not Metro Station is a marketed package or not, it makes no difference because they are here, they are really good at what they are doing and I know after tonight that they are going to be around for a long long time because they can only get bigger from here. I look forward to watching their progress.

In closing, my only negative thing that I have to say is that the show was too short and the time flew by.
