Futures sign to Mercury Records
2010 is rapidly turning into the year of Futures. Both the release of their debut single “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” and debut mini album “The Holiday” were a critically and commercially acclaimed success – leading to their recent headline show at The Borderline in London selling out in just three days.
The huge word of mouth buzz building on the band resulted in massive interest from a number of labels. On the 23rd June 2010 Futures signed a worldwide deal to Mercury Records.
Ant West says “Everything seems to be falling into its right place for our band. The past year we’ve had some big decisions to debate but signing to Mercury was one of the easiest for us to make. We have written the debut album and are ready for the studio. Playing music has never been so exciting.. I can’t imagine what the next year will bring, but we’re ready to take Futures to the next level.”
The band’s debut album is now written and set for release in early 2011 through Mercury Records.
The band are also set to sign a major publishing deal. Futures are dispelling the myth that the British rock scene isn’t producing quality bands. Futures are leading the charge for a whole new generation of great British rock acts…
Formed in 2009, London four piece Futures debut single “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” shows a band at the height of their powers, stamping their footprint as the next wave in the rock world.
